Older Adult COVID-19 Vaccination Initiative 2022

If we’ve learned anything in 2020, it’s that viral illnesses are serious and can be deadly – especially for older adults. Due in part to much higher rates of chronic conditions, older people make up the majority of flu-related deaths (84%). While older people get flu shots at a higher rate than others (70% – 42%), the pandemic presents challenges such as a fear of going out to get a shot, misinformation about flu shots, and fewer opportunities to get a shot.

Experts are working to learn more about both natural immunity and vaccine-induced immunity. What we do know is that COVID-19 has caused very serious illness and death for a lot of people, specifically and disproportionately in Black and Brown communities. If you get COVID-19, you also risk giving it to loved ones that are not vaccinated and who may get very sick. Getting  a COVID-19 vaccine is a safer choice for our community.

As summer comes in, the General Baptist State Convention of WI – H.O.P.E. Ministry wants to share accurate and current information for our community to continue your efforts to protect yourself and your family against COVID:
